POLGRAW
POLGRAW has become a member group of the VIRGO project under the
Memorandum of Agreement of April 24th,
2008. POLGRAW presently consists of 11 scientists based in Polish institutions.

Scientific objectives
POLGRAW will contribute to the VIRGO project in the following areas:
1. Data analysis:
a. Participation to the all sky search for GWs emitted
by rotating neutron Stars (CW working group).
b. Modeling populations and GW signals form coalescing binary systems
of neutron stars and black holes, including black-hole binaries
with non-negligible spin (CB working group).
2. Detector characterization: Search for periodic interferences in
the data.
3. Contribute to code simulating working and performance of the VIRGO
interferometer.
We are also planning to contribute to Advanced VIRGO construction through collaboration
with Center of Space Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Links
Several memebers of POLGRAW group gained experience in the search for gravitational wave
signals from neutron stars using bar detector data.
Memebers of the POLGRAW group participate in two working
groups of LIGO Scientific Collaboration and Virgo Collaboration:
Continuous-Wave Group and
Compact Binary Coalescence Group.
