CV Summary

My early work in Torun focused on solar radio emission at metre wavelengths, receiver and antenna upgrades, and the development of aperture-synthesis techniques. One of my first independent projects was the design and construction of a 43 MHz radio telescope for super-synthesis observations of the North Polar Region. The Cambridge period opened the way to advanced interferometric work and led directly to the 5C7 deep survey of radio sources, which became the basis of my doctoral thesis.

In the following years I worked and held research visits at leading radio astronomy centres, including Jodrell Bank, Onsala Space Observatory, MPIfR Bonn, Caltech, MIT, NRAO, and ESO. These collaborations led to work on VLBI, compact steep-spectrum quasars, OH maser spectroscopy, millimetre-wave studies of AGN, and methanol maser surveys. My published work includes research on 5C surveys, 3C309.1, OH/IR 127.8-0.0, methanol masers, and later participation in projects such as OCRA and RoboPol.

Alongside research, I was involved in building and operating major radio astronomy infrastructure in Torun. I contributed to the preparation of the 15 m telescope for VLBI operation, took part in the development of instrumentation for the Torun observatory, and later devoted much of my work to the 32 m NCU radio telescope in Piwnice. I also served as Director of the Torun Radio Astronomy Observatory and later as Director of the Torun Centre for Astronomy. I gave specialized lectures at NCU and UAM, supervised seven Ph.D. students, and remained active in outreach and in international scientific cooperation.
